Slovakia might repair Ukraine's damaged military equipment, with Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad confirming talks to this effect before the Cabinet session on Wednesday. According to Nad, Slovak firms would carry out repairs on a standard commercial basis, i.e. not free of charge.
"We were asked by Ukraine whether our military repair companies would be able to fix Ukraine's damaged military equipment. This means that the damaged equipment would be sent to Slovakia, we would repair it here and return it to Ukraine," said Nad, adding that the issue is at the stage of talks and hasn't been definitively decided.
The minister praised the Czech Republic's decision to send tanks and BVP military vehicles to Ukraine. He pointed to the fact that the Czech Republic invested in its ground forces in the past and so was able to provide such equipment. "We can't do so, as we bought nothing in the past," he noted.
