President Zuzana Caputova lit a candle in front of the Ukrainian Embassy to Slovakia to commemorate victims of war atrocities in the city of Bucha. Caputova dedicated the lighting of the candle to all men, women and children who haven't lived to see the liberation of the Ukrainian city from the Russian occupation. Following the withdrawal of Russian troops, Ukrainian units discovered a mass grave with almost 300 buried civilians in the city of Bucha, situated in the Kyiv Oblast. Dozens of additional corpses were found lying in the streets.
According to Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad, the method of warfare, and quite likely military strategy, of the Russian Federation is changing. "This is what Putin calls 'de-Nazification' of Ukraine. It's nothing else but the extermination of innocent inhabitants and the committing of war crimes," said Nad, adding that it's necessary to respond responsibly by introducing new sanctions against Russia.
