Person suspected of collaboration with Russians released from custody

Former Military Academy official Pavel Bucka, who is suspected of long-term collaboration with Russian military intelligence, has been released from custody by the Supreme Court. The court argued that it sees no reason for the defendant to be remanded in custody. A total of two individuals have been charged with accepting bribes and espionage for collaborating with Russian military intelligence. If found guilty, they could spend up to thirteen years in prison. Bucka has allegedly provided information to Russian intelligence services since 2013, with the defendant confessing this to the police, including the sums he obtained. His intel concerned NATO interests and the Slovak Armed Forces.
