The Supreme Court senate on Thursday decided that ex-mayor of Zilina and former leader of the Slovak National Party Jan Slota, facing charges of corruption, will be prosecuted at large.
In accordance with a decision previously issued by the Specialised Criminal Court, the Supreme Court stated that there are reasons for pre-trial custody, but this is to be replaced by the supervision of a probation and mediation officer. In addition, it toughened up the restrictions on Jan S. to include the obligation to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.
