Slovakia will purchase 8x8 armoured vehicles as the Government approved on Wednesday an evaluation of the bids received. Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad should conclude the necessary contractual documents by September 30. Following the Government meeting, Defence Minister Nad stated that Slovakia would buy the Finnish Patria AMVXP vehicles, which passed the evaluation the best. The total price for the contract, including infrastructure and ammunition vehicles, is €447 million. The investment will be spread over several years, and be repaid gradually. "Given the nature of the intergovernmental contract, I have a mandate to sign an agreement with the Finnish government by the end of September this year," said Nad.
