The National Crime Agency's Operation Pompei, in which 24 people were detained on Wednesday, concerns 36 public contracts at the State Material Reserves Administration dating back to 2016-2020. Police Corps spokeswoman Denisa Bardyova told the TASR news agency that the prosecution is being conducted in the matter of a particularly serious crime of breaching duty in the administration of somebody else's property in concurrence with the crime of machinations in public procurement and public auction. NAKA started criminal prosecution "on the basis of its own findings and on the basis of a criminal motion submitted by the current SSHR leadership".
