Health Minister: EU to help Ukrainian refugees also in field of health

The EU countries plan to extend aid to the Ukrainian refugees also in the field of health, including the vaccination of their children against specific diseases, Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky declared after a session of the Council of the EU for Employment, Social Policy, Health and Consumers in Brussels on Tuesday, a TASR correspondent reported on the same day.

Lengvarsky welcomed a statement by European Commissioner for Health Stella Kyriakidis, who had said that the EU is establishing centres at its borders with Ukraine to admit and resettle refugees in need of health care to those member states with best prospects for their treatment.

Slovakia and other states neighbouring Ukraine have lent their support to a proposal by Poland to create a special fund to provide for the needs of refugees, including the procurement of health-related items.
