On the occasion of Monday's Teachers' Day, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová thanked teachers for their work, creativity and also for being patient in their profession. "Schools have had two difficult years associated with the pandemic, when pupils turned into online learners," the President said, adding that teachers also had a hard time during the pandemic, spending long hours in front of a computer screen.
Good teachers are a key factor in ensuring high-quality education, Slovak PM Eduard Heger said and thanked teachers "for all the good they do for our children and future generations." At the same time, the prime minister expressed his conviction that, although the pandemic period was very demanding for teachers, it helped to dynamise modernisation processes in the Slovak education sector and move it into the 21st century.
