Participants in a NATO summit on Thursday unanimously condemned the war in Ukraine as a violation of international law committed by Russia, Slovak President Zuzana Caputova declared after the extraordinary summit in Brussels ended. The outcomes of the summit are fourfold. First, NATO is to reinforce its presence on its eastern flank, meaning enhanced forward presence in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. "In Slovakia, this has already been greenlighted by Parliament and it will take place under the command of the Czech Republic," Caputova pointed out. When asked by the TASR press agency about NATO's reply to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's request for the alliance to provide one percent of its tanks and military aircraft to Ukraine, Caputova stated that the majority of NATO countries are also extending military material aid to Kiev, and this is only to increase in scope. "We concurred within NATO that our aid must be preventive and de-escalatory," claimed Slovak President.
