Slovakia will take over the rotating Visegrad group presidency from Hungary from July 1st, and regarding the upcoming one year presidency term, its main motto will be: “Dynamic Visegrad for Europe and the world”.
Foreign and European Affairs minister Miroslav Lajčák informed about the plans for the Slovak presidency today at a press conference. It is the 4th time Slovakia will be at the head of the V4 group, which consists of the four neighbouring countries: Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic. “We have decided to focus the programme of the Slovak presidency on the consolidation of public finances, stimulation of economic growth and the prevention of tax fraud in the countries of Visegrad group,” stated Lajčák. He added that the Slovak presidency will also concentrate on the strengthening of the coordination mechanisms of the V4 group within the European Union.
