On Thursday, The Bratislava I District Court immediately ordered opposition MP Ľuboš Blaha to refrain from publishing and spreading false claims about President Zuzana Čaputová. He must remove those claims from his statuses on social media within three days of receiving the ruling. In the past Blaha has often called the President a traitor, an agent of foreign powers or that she was controlled by the United States.
“The statements accusing the President of particularly serious crimes are not defensible on the grounds of freedom of speech, as they lack factual, rational argumentation, or any attempt to explain and prove the facts alleged. His statuses are offensive in nature with the aim of provoking and inciting strong negative emotions," explained the court.
