Slovak Paradise: New ice cave information centre opened for tourists

A new Tourist-Information Centre (TIC) Dobšinská Ice Cave was officially opened on Saturday, as a part of a joint Swiss-Slovak co-operation project.

According to Swiss Ambassador to Slovakia Alexander Wittwer, the unique conditions of nature set in "a breathtaking scenery of Slovak Paradise" (Slovenský Raj), allow local villages to draft a collective strategy for the development of tourism, while capitalising on the potential of the locality. The TIC will offer tourists comprehensive information not only about Dobšinská Ice Cave but also a number of other attractions, sightseeing spots, rare places or options for recreation, sports and tourism. Dobšinská Ice Cave, located in Slovak Paradise belongs among the largest ice caves in Europe and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
