Economic sanctions against the Kremlin are also contributing to our own safety, said President Zuzana Caputova on Wednesday in connection with further sanctions against Russia that are being prepared by the European Union.
"Russia has militarily invaded Ukraine, but with his further demands [Russian President Vladimir] Putin wants to change the security architecture of the whole of Europe. Only economic sanctions can prevent him from doing this, as they will make it impossible for him to wage war and continue to kill innocent people and helpless children. They will discourage him from unleashing another military conflict," stated the president.
