Sixty modernisation projects are currently underway within the Defence Ministry, said Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad (OLaNO) before the Cabinet session on Wednesday, adding that the condition of Slovakia's defence infrastructure isn't good. "We'll see how many of them we'll manage to complete, but I believe that most of them [will be]," stated Nad, who said that he'll submit a plan to procure 8x8 armoured military vehicles to the Government soon, to be followed by a plan for the procurement of tracked vehicles. The ministry is also looking to replace 70-year-old V3S vehicles. Other projects include procuring drones, small arms and training aircraft that would reduce the cost of training personnel to fly F-16 fighters.
