Ukrainian lawyers who are currently in Slovakia can apply for professional posts in law firms, head of the Slovak Bar Association (SAK) Viliam Karas reported on Tuesday.
"Despite differences between Slovak and Ukrainian law, we think that this is an interesting opportunity. [SAK] has encountered educated and highly qualified Ukrainian lawyers, and we think that our lawyers could benefit from their knowledge," said Karas.
The Slovak Advocacy Act stipulates that a law firm can employ professional and other staff apart from trainees. In Karas' opinion, this kind of cooperation could be useful in providing legal aid to Ukrainian refugees.
