The number of employees working at the Russian embassy in Bratislava might be reduced even further in connection with the revelation of Russian espionage in Slovakia, according to Interior Minister Roman Mikulec. Furthermore, Mikulec agreed with opposition MP Erik Tomáš of Hlas-SD that such a step must not be taken only on the basis of a single case and pending investigation. If it is confirmed that any Slovak political party has been financed by Russia, the minister did not rule out a discussion on dissolving it. "At the very least, the discussion would focus on what preventive measures should be adopted for the future and the question whether it is in order if a party obtains finances from a country that has been clearly acting against Slovakia's interests," said Mikulec.
