Primary and secondary schools that provide education to students from Ukraine will receive a one-off bonus of €200 for each Ukrainian student, Education Minister Branislav Groehling declared at a press conference on Friday. "These financial resources can be used to procure school equipment for the students, cover their travel costs or finance other costs incurred by schools that educate students from Ukraine," explained Groehling. There are 1,773 students from Ukraine in Slovakia at the moment, with the ministry allocating a total of €354,600 to facilitate their integration. The minister added that schools are supposed to arrange language courses for Ukrainian students. "Schools will have these costs reimbursed as well. All they have to do is file an application with the ministry," he stated.
