The sanctions against Russia are starting to show their worth, said Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) before the Government session on Wednesday. "The sanctions have caused an important domino effect, which we wanted to trigger in order to isolate Vladimir Putin economically and at the same time send a clear signal to anyone who might think of starting a war in a foreign territory in the 21st century, that they will automatically be economically isolated," said the prime minister. The time is coming, he added, when the Russians will have to ask themselves who should replace their current president.
Meanwhile, humanitarian assistance on Slovakia's eastern border is being coordinated and capacities are being boosted. On this note, the premier remarked that the aim is to ensure that Slovakia will be able to cope with any influx of refugees and at the same time make life as comfortable as possible for the people fleeing Ukraine.
