As of Monday noon Slovakia celebrated 3 gold medals from at the Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing. Visually impaired skier Henrieta Farkašová with her guide Natália Šubrtová won the women’s downhill and Alexandra Rexová, together with her guide Eva Trajčíková, won gold in Sunday's Super-G among visually impaired women. Moreover, on Monday, Farkašová also won the women's super combined vision impaired. Thus, on Monday noon, Slovakia ranked 6th in the medal rankings at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. "We are pleased with your gold medals in skiing. Especially these days, when the ethos of the Olympics has been trampled by the Russian invasion of Ukraine," reacted Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger on a social network. He added that the athletes at the Beijing Paralympics are proof that the human will can overcome even the biggest obstacles.
