Had a general election taken place at the end of February, it would have been won by the extra-parliamentary Voice-SD of the former prime minister for Smer-SD Peter Pellegrini on 18.5% of the votes, according to the results of a Focus agency poll. Another opposition Smer-SD party would be second (with 15.6%) ahead of the co-governing Freedom and Solidarity (on 12%), extra-parliamentary party Progressive Slovakia (8.1%), followed by the major governing Ordinary people (7.8%), the non-parliamentary far right Republic (7%) the junior governing We Are Family party (6.3%), and the non-parliamentary Christian Democrats (6%). The remaining parties would be left out of Parliament, not exceeding the 5-percent threshold. Their list includes the ethnic-Hungarian Alliance (4.6%), the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (3.8%), the Slovak National Party (3.8%), the smallest governing For the People party (2.7%), the Hungarian Forum (1.2%), Good Choice and Moderates (1.1%), and Together (0.8%). The results of this hypothetical general election would have translated into 34 seats in Parliament for Voice-SD, 29 for Smer-SD, 22 for Freedom and Solidarity, 15 for Progressive Slovakia, 14 for Ordinary people 14, 13 for Republic, 12 for We Are Family, and 11 for the Christian Democrats.
