“Any show of support for the war crimes of Russian President Vladimir Putin is beyond the line of humanness and the law,” Prime Minister Eduard Heger declared in a post on a social network on Monday. Heger warned that Slovakia finds itself entrenched in a hybrid war and the police have already taken action, monitoring the activities of individuals behind disinformation campaigns. The National Crime Agency is proactively searching the internet for any criminal instances of promoting war and is also verifying tips from the public. According to the Police Corps Presidium spokesperson Andrea Dobiasova, if such activities are discovered, the police will take action resolutely and without compromises against such individuals.
At the same time, PM Eduard Heger asked the public not to allow the war in Ukraine to fuel hatred against common Russians. Heger pointed out that in the current turbulent times it's necessary to distinguish between the Russian Government, which is responsible for starting the war in Ukraine, and regular Russian people.
