As of Monday 6 a.m., due to the situation in Ukraine, public-service broadcaster RTVS launched non-stop news coverage on its third channel called Trojka and renamed it :24. "In an emergency situation related to the war in Ukraine, RTVS has decided to extend its news broadcasting significantly so that Slovak citizens can receive up-to-date and verified information throughout the day," said RTVS spokesperson Andrea Pivarčiová. "With its news broadcast, RTVS wants to create a solid and reliable information source available to the public 24/7," said RTVS general director Jaroslav Rezník. The channel, whose creation has been brought up by the situation in Ukraine, will bring live statements by public officials on the current political and security situation. It will also offer viewers half-hour live blocks on what is happening in Ukraine as well as in Slovakia. The news channel will also broadcast discussions with political analysts, sociologists, scientists and politicians. The news service will be supplemented with analyses and commentaries.
