President: Slovakia not facing any direct military danger

Slovakia is not facing any direct military danger, but if the conflict in Ukraine were to escalate, then there would be consequences for Bratislava at least in the form of Ukrainians fleeing to Slovakia from war, President Zuzana Caputova declared after an extraordinary session of the Slovak Security Council on Tuesday.

Caputova added that the recognition of Luhansk and Donetsk Republics by Russia can be called an occupation of sovereign Ukraine.

Caputova claimed that the Slovak Security Council also discussed potential responses in terms of Slovakia's preparation for further developments. She pointed out that a spike in hybrid Russian activities, the spreading of propaganda and disinformation has been seen in Slovakia recently.
