Slovakia refuses to accept Russia's decision to recognise the independence of the self-proclaimed separatist Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic in the Donbas region of Ukraine, the Foreign Affairs Ministry declared in a statement that it sent to TASR on Monday night.
The ministry called Russia's decision an unacceptable move that "directly contradicts [Moscow's] proclaimed interest in seeking a constructive solution in diplomatic dialogue within the relevant international formats".
According to the ministry, such action is also at odds with "the principle of indivisible security, which Russia itself emphasises and expects both NATO and the EU to respect".
