The Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry decided to withdraw the family members of employees at the Slovak Embassy in Kiev and the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Uzhhorod. Other European countries and the United States of America are also withdrawing their staff and family members from Ukraine.
At the same time, the MoFA is changing the travel advisory to the level of do not travel to Ukraine, regardless of the purpose of travel. "This decision is the result of the discussion between the embassies of the EU member states in Kiev. The decision of the Ministry is based on the assessment of the most recent intelligence shared, which speaks of a further deterioration in the security environment and an escalation of tensions," said Juraj Tomaga, spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The Ministry is prepared to further adjust the travel advisories according to current developments. "In this regard, we advise you to regularly monitor the department's website and take advantage of the opportunity to register on the MFA's website," Tomaga added.
