Slovakia with negative trade balance in November 2021

Slovakia posted a trade-balance deficit of €31.2 million in November, the Statistics Office revealed on in its report. The country recorded a trade-balance surplus for the January-November 2021 period of almost €2 billion (€1.947 billion), which was €1.25 million lower than in the same period of 2020.

Slovakia exported goods worth almost €8.49 billion in November 2021, up 11.7% year-on-year (y-o-y), while imports amounted to €8.522 billion, up 15.6%. Goods worth over €80.714 billion were exported from Slovakia in the first eleven months of last year, up 16.1% y-o-y. Imports amounted to €78.767 billion, an increase of 18.8% y-o-y.

The biggest surpluses were recorded in trade with Germany (€3.159 billion), Hungary (€2.666 billion), France (€2.486 billion), Austria (€2.362 billion), Poland (€2.328 billion), the United Kingdom (€2.171 billion), the Czech Republic (€1.763 billion), the United States (€1.648 billion), Italy (€1.210 billion) and Romania (€765.2 million).

Conversely, the biggest deficits were in trade with South Korea (€3.931 billion), Russia (€3.617 billion), Vietnam (€3.584 billion), China (€3.540 billion), Malaysia (€687 million), Taiwan (€384.3 million), Bangladesh (€227.8 million) and Thailand (€241.7 million).
