European environment ministers sign Danube declaration

Fourteen European environment ministers, including Slovakia's Ján Budaj, signed the Danube Ministerial Declaration on Tuesday. Such a ministerial meeting takes place once every six years on the occasion of the joint signing of the declaration. This document expresses the vision of the Danube countries to cooperate in water protection and management. It is organised by the Vienna-based International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River. The Danube connects 14 countries and is, therefore, a symbol of EU integration, cooperation and enlargement.
