In Slovakia, support for the European Parliament has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, but at the same time, fewer people view membership in the European Union as positive in itself. This stems from the latest Eurobarometer survey. While a majority of EU citizens (58 percent) want the European Parliament to play a more important role in the future, only 32 percent of Slovaks want the same. In Slovakia, 25 percent of respondents have a positive view of the European Parliament. This is six percentage points more than in 2015. Slovaks consider public health to be the main priority of the European Parliament (50 per cent), followed by the fight against poverty and social exclusion (38 per cent), support for the economy and the creation of new jobs (37 per cent).
