The validity of vaccination against COVID-19 will be reduced from one year to nine months since the last vaccine dose as of February. According to Public Health Office spokesperson Dasa Rackova, the Slovak office is harmonising the validity of COVID passes with the new rules adopted by the European Commission. The nine-month validity is calculated from administration of the second of a two-dose vaccine or from the administration of a single-dose vaccine. After expiration of the nine-month period, persons are no longer viewed as vaccinated.
Meanwhile, people who have recovered from COVID-19 will have the same conditions upon arrival in Slovakia as the vaccinated, according to a regulation issued by the Public Health Office. Home quarantine will no longer be mandatory for those who recovered from the disease and for the fully vaccinated after February 4. Both vaccinated and recovered are obliged to register themselves with eHranica (eBorder) system once every six months.
