Citizens of the Slovak Republic should limit their entry into Ukraine to essential travel only, the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry recommended on its website in reaction to the ongoing tensions in Ukraine. Furthermore, the Ministry advises Slovaks in Ukraine not to participate in mass protest events. "The security situation in the whole territory of Ukraine is unpredictable and can change very quickly," the ministry warned.
The MFA also advises against travel to the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the eastern part of Ukraine, the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. "In this regard, please note that the Ukrainian side permits the passage of foreigners between the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and the territory of Ukraine only with a special permit through the checkpoints established for this purpose," the MFA added.
