If the parliamentary election had been held in January, the opposition Voice-SD party would have won with 17.8% of votes, according to a poll by the Focus agency. Opposition Smer-SD (16.3%) would be second ahead of the governing Freedom and Solidarity (11.1%), the non-parliamentary Progressive Slovakia (8.3%), the largest governing Ordinary People (8%), the far right Republic (7.8%), the governing We Are Family (6.1%) and the non-parliamentary Christian Democrats (5.8%) party. The remaining parties would not make the house.
Thus, Voice-SD would have acquired 33 MP seats in the House, Smer-SD 30, Freedom and Solidarity 21, Progressive Slovakia and Ordinary People 15 each, Republic 14 and We Are Family and KDH 11 each.
The poll was conducted in January 19-26 on a sample of 1,017 respondents.
