Slovakia must preventively prepare itself for all potential scenarios regarding the Ukraine crisis, President Zuzana Caputova declared on Tuesday.
Caputova voiced her agreement with all the steps that have been taken by NATO and the EU thus far and finds it important to do everything to prevent the further escalation of the situation. "However, we need to bolster our own, Slovak, readiness, in case the situation east of our borders continues to deteriorate and Russia attacks Ukraine once again," reads the statement sent to TASR by Caputova's spokesperson Martin Strizinec.
The head of state pointed out that we all share the same security space, the European continent, on which all countries wish to live safely and securely. "It holds that one of the basic prerequisites for such a co-existence is the mutual observance of the rules that we all agreed on with the Russian Federation," she added.
