The omicron wave will be short, intense and affect many sectors, Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky (OLaNO nominee) warned after a coordination meeting between representatives of Government ministries held on Tuesday.
The meeting was convened by Interior Minister Roman Mikulec (OLaNO) at the request of Lengvarsky. Originally, it was billed as a session of the Central Crisis Team. At the session, individual ministries reported their level of preparedness for the new coronavirus variant and shared experiences from foreign countries.
According to the Health Minister, the essential ways to prepare for the omicron is to test as much as possible, work from home, restrict social contacts and vaccinate. More detailed information on the epidemiological development will be announced after a session of the Government on Wednesday (January 26).
