Defence Cooperation Agreement still talk of the day

Defence Cooperation Agreement still talk of the day

Speaking on public broadcaster's RTVS discussion programme on Sunday, the coalition MP for OLaNO and head of the parliamentary defence and security committee Juraj Krupa opined that the Defence Cooperation Agreement with the USA will be approved by the Slovak Parliament. Krupa said that even though every parliamentary caucus had at least one MP who has some issues with the agreement, this should not prevent Parliament from greenlighting the document in the end. Krupa's opponent on the show, independent MP Matus Sutaj Estok, who is a member of the extra-parliamentary Voice-SD party, stated that the Government had failed to dispel all the concerns regarding the document. Meanwhile, Smer-SD head Robert Fico announced at a press conference on Saturday that his party would protest against the Defence Cooperation Agreement with the USA and hikes in the prices of food in the country in front of the Presidential Palace on Wednesday.
