Slovakia offers its water management expertise to Central Asia

Foreign Affairs Ministry State Secretary Ingrid Brockova received the advisor to the International Water Assessment Centre Boris Minarik on Friday to discuss specific possibilities of support for the centre’s activities by the Foreign Affairs Ministry. According to Brockova, the ministry is systematically transferring experience in the field of water management to the Central Asian countries. The result is specific projects in the field of irrigation, hydrometeorology, operation management and production of electricity from hydropower plants. According to Brockova, the ministry is interested in connecting Slovak public institutions and the private sector with international organisations for the needs of Central Asian countries. Slovakia can offer experience in preparing legislation and implementing projects in the field of dam and hydroelectric power plant management.
