President Zuzana Caputova has reported on her Facebook account that she wants to meet with Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok (an SaS nominee) and Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad (OLaNO) over the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) with the USA this week.
"Then I’ll comment on my next moves," the president wrote.
Help for Ukrainian insurgents could involve training in countries that are on NATO’s eastern border and are neighbours with Ukraine, namely Poland, Romania and Slovakia, opposition Smer-SD head Robert Fico has stated. He was referring to the New York Times, which, according to him, reported this news citing representatives of the US administration. In his statement, Fico indicated that thanks to the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) with the USA, it will be easy to train Ukrainian insurgents in Slovakia. In its reaction the Defence Ministry stated that such an occurrence has never been discussed with Slovakia either at the bilateral or multilateral level. “The information isn’t based on reality," reads the ministry’s statement.
