Slovakia is expected to contribute approximately €20 million to bilateral development cooperation in 2022, according to the draft focus of bilateral development cooperation, submitted by the Foreign Affairs Ministry. The sum represents a similar number to the figure from the previous year - approximately €20 million.
The ministry said that if necessary, Slovakia is ready to help manage the pandemic this year as well. The most important task should be to ensure that vaccines are available in partner countries. "The Slovak Republic is in favour of a fair distribution of vaccines and will continue to be ready to share vaccines with partner countries, including the use of the WHO COVAX mechanism," stated the ministry in the document. The cooperation should also be aimed at supporting economic recovery in partner countries following the pandemic.
