Minister Korcok on phone with Secretary Blinken about Ukraine

Chief of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korcok (SaS nominee) had a telephone call on Monday with US State Secretary Antony Blinken and counterparts from the so-called Bucharest Nine countries to discuss the situation in Ukraine. The fulcrum of the telephone discussion were the ongoing negotiations between the United States and the Russian Federation on issues of European security. According to Ivan Korcok, "we're ready for an open dialogue with Russia. At the same time, however, we will use as a springboard for these discussions the principles that form the basis of our Slovak and European security." Next Wednesday (January 12), Brussels will host a session of NATO Council–Russia, with talks also to continue the day after under the auspices of OSCE in Vienna.
