December 2021 in Slovakia was slightly abnormal in terms of air temperature and warmer than average, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Office (SHMU) stated in its preliminary climatologist assessment for the month of December. The lowest air temperature of -23.3 degrees Celsius was recorded on December 27 in the village of Podolinec, whereas the highest air temperature of 16.9 degrees Celsius was measured at the Bratislava Airport meteorological station on December 31. The highest average temperature of 2.5 degrees Celsius was detected at the Bratislava Airport, whereas the lowest average air temperature, -4.4 degrees Celsius, was in the village of Stratena-Dobsinska Ice Cave.
