Foreign Minister: “I'm glad coalition enjoys consensus on foreign policy”

Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korcok (an SaS nominee) has told the TASR news agency in an interview that he appreciates the fact that the coalition enjoys a consensus on Slovakia's foreign policy. He also pointed out that foreign policy is always linked to domestic political developments. The year 2021 was dynamic, dramatic and full of big events, although the world has remained unstable. One of the biggest problems in the minister's view is the lingering uncertainty connected to the COVID-19 pandemic. Minister Korcok also praised good ties with neighbouring states, which he deems to be a strong suit of Slovakia, adding, however, that the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border is also in the neighbourhood. In his view, this is the current and most important challenge to address.
