Entry of third-country health professionals to be fully managed by Slovak Medical University

Slovak Medical University (SZU) should become the only institution that manages the entry of health professionals from third countries into the Slovak health care system, according to an announcement by Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky. He added that it will be the task of university staff to ascertain the status of third-country health professionals, i.e. their level of study and work experience. The foreign professionals would be guided through the whole system of obtaining a work permit, including managing the examination process, which would also be standardised. The head of the health ministry added that the Ministry is also looking for ways to make it financially easier for third-country professionals to enter the system.
