DRS: only uncompressed, undamaged bottles and cans to be accepted

People in Slovakia will be able to return beverage cans and plastic bottles only uncompressed and undamaged with a lid as part of Deposit return system, which will be introduced as of January 1 2022. Only bottles and cans marked with the “Z” symbol – standing for “záloha” meaning “deposit” in Slovak will be accepted. When purchasing a beverage with the Z sign, customers will pay an extra 15 cents for the deposit of the packaging. People will get the sum back when they return the bottle or can to a shop.
