In an interview for TASR, Education Minister Branislav Groehling (Freedom and Solidarity/SaS) said that the Education Ministry will inform the public after the Christmas holidays as to when students will be allowed to return to school. He noted that meetings with representatives of the Health Ministry are still ongoing. He believes that the school traffic lights will come back into use as of January 10, 2022. Students of the fifth to ninth grades of primary school and secondary school students switched to remote education across the country as of December 13. The winter school holidays are to last from December 20, 2021 until January 7, 2022. It is still unknown whether students will return to school when they end.
