Prime Minister Eduard Heger said that if mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 were to be introduced, it would only concern people over 60. Nevertheless, the coalition partners do not share the same opinion on this topic at the moment and the Slovak Health Ministry should prepare an analysis in this regard by January 10. Heger noted that neither the country nor its hospitals are ready for further waves of the pandemic. He also explained that it is exactly the 60+ age group that makes up the largest portion of patients with the disease in hospitals.
Moreover, the PM did not rule out that mandatory vaccination could also be introduced for people working in certain professions.
