Andrej Kiska assumes the post of the President of the Slovak Republic

Andrej Kiska has become the fourth president of the Slovak Republic. During a ceremonial session of the Slovak Parliament in the Bratislava-based Reduta building, the official seat of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Kiska took the oath of office before President of the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic Ivetta Macejková on Sunday, June 15.

He replaced Ivan Gašparovič, who was serving in the presidential post for ten years. In his inauguration speech, the new head of state assured the cabinet and the parliament that he intends to offer support and be their partner every time when they can help Slovakia together.
