The first three cases of the omicron variant of coronavirus were confirmed in Slovakia at the weekend. All three infected people arrived from high-risk countries by individual transport, have been fully vaccinated and have an easy course of the disease. "All of them have been isolated, we are tracing their contacts. We are sequencing some 1,100 samples a week and all contacts of those infected with omicron will be sequenced, too," said Slovak Health Minister Vladimír Lengvarský, adding that the situation is under control for now. "We will not revise the current measures for now, there is no reason for that. We still do not exactly know what omicron is doing," said the Minister. According to him, some 150 people who were in high-risk countries have reported themselves to the Public Health Authority to date, with the omicron variant being confirmed in the aforementioned three cases.
