President Zuzana Čaputová is still viewed as the most trusted politician in Slovakia, enjoying the confidence of 52% as opposed to 47% who distrust her, according to the Focus agency’s survey. The second most trusted politician is former PM Peter Pellegrini, now leader of the opposition Voice-SD party, (trusted by 41%, untrustworthy by 57%). He was followed by another former PM, Robert Fico of opposition Smer-SD (29%/69%) and current PM Eduard Heger (Ordinary People; 28%/70%) Economy Minister Richard Sulik (Freedom and Solidarity; 27%/72%), Speaker of Parliament Boris Kollár (We Are Family; 24% / 75%) and MEP Milan Uhrík of the far-right Republic party (24% / 60%).
Also making it onto the list was head of the Christian Democrats Milan Majerský (23% / 49%), extra-parliamentary Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party; 21% / 75%), Investments Minister Veronika Remišová (For the People; 18% / 79%), Irena Bihariová (Progressive Slovakia; 17% / 66%), Marian Kotleba (far right People’s Party Our Slovakia; 17% / 80%). The least trusted is the former PM and Finance Minister Igor Matovič (Ordinary People; 14% / 86%).
The poll was conducted between November 16 and 23 on a sample of 1,005 respondents.
