Mayor of small village sentenced for cooperation with mafia

František Dora, mayor of the Dolný Chotár village in Southern Slovakia, is guilty of ordering several murders and activities in favour of the Sátor criminal group, the Specialized criminal court decided on Monday. He has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, forfeiture and three-year protective supervision. His son František Dora jr. as well as his partner Ladislav Alfóldi also received a 25 year sentence. According to the indictment, the victims of the murders were competitors in agribusiness and also people acting as front for businesses.
