On Thursday, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Office issued a second-level snow warning for Bratislava. The traffic situation in Slovakia's capital city continued to deteriorate throughout the day due to heavy snow. Public transport recorded delays on several routes with bus transport completely suspended in the hilly borough of Lamac. As for rail infrastructure, trains were running slightly late albeit with no long delays. Because of heavy snow, Bratislava Airport was temporarily closed. The relevant airport units were working intensively to clear the runways, nevertheless, the snow was so heavy that neither mechanical nor chemical means could help to keep operational areas open.
