On Thursday, the city of Bratislava has been experiencing the heaviest snowfall since 2013, with up to 20cm of fresh snow. Prior to the calamity, the magistrate warned of potential transport complications, urging the city inhabitants to leave their cars at home and opt for home office work if possible. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Office issued a second-level warning, as the intensity of forecast snow poses a great danger to human activities. The city warned that despite the round-the-clock snow-plough service, local traffic complications and public transport delays are to be expected.
